In the morning we start with a guided tour of the medieval village of Calestano, a delightful cluster of houses in the Parma hills. Then it’s time for an incredible experience that reveals all the secrets of black truffles.
During the truffle season, we are hosted by an agriturismo where we find out all about the production and plantation of black truffles. Then it’s off to the forest, or “tartufaia”, where the special truffle dog Jack will show you his techniques for finding truffles. We finish with a truffle-based lunch so that you can taste this black jewel. The truffle season is generally from late September to late November, although it varies from year to year.
